Into the rainforest: The ICE2002 team flies from Riberalta to Cobija and on into Puero Araona via HU1 helicopters flown by the elite members of the Red Devil Squadron.

FROM RIBERALTA TO PALMASOLA AND BEYOND

The ICE2002 team has traveled from the relative comfort of Riberalta to the expedition jumppoint at Puerto Araona in the heart of the Bolivian rainforest. Living amongst the main Araona village (pop. 110) in a minature tent city, the team became acclimated to the conditions in the rainforest and explored the geology of the area down river.
